Moonstone is best known for its schiller effect that occurs when light reflects off of the stone. Moonstone is a feldspar mineral and is made up of Orthoclase and Albite, when this stone formed these minerals grew in alternating layers which gave moonstone its beautiful glow that is seen when light hits the stone!
