Bumblebee Jasper is not a true form of Jasper, it was just the name given to the stone, however the real story is much more interesting. It is a white/grey Calcite with yellow Sulfur and/or Sulfur bearing minerals imbedded in it, along with black bands of oxide minerals. The best pieces of Bumblebee Jasper have bands of all these different colors, just like this piece. It is a volcanically altered stone from the Papandayan volcano in Java ( aka Jawa), Indonesia.
